St. John’s Primary Academy in Essington is part of Future Generation Trust.
“Love one another. As I have loved you.” (John 13.34). This is the commandment that Jesus gave, and is at the heart of everything that we do at St John’s Primary Academy.
St John’s Primary Academy has over 500 pupils, as well as a 52 place nursery and a thriving pre-school for 2 and 3 year old children; the academy also provides before and after school provision during term-time.
St John’s is fully inclusive, and enjoys a good reputation in the locality and beyond. The academy provides a broad and balanced curriculum, which is delivered through engaging activities, by committed and creative staff, who believe in fostering children’s aspirations and providing them with opportunities to flourish, in body, mind and spirit and to experience the joy and hope of “…life in all its fullness” (John 10.10). As a result, the academy has a strong performance record at all national “measure” points, and the last three Ofsted visits have rated it Outstanding.
We celebrate our Christian distinctiveness through our collective worship and participation in key events in the church calendar at St John’s church, through our extra curricula activities such as sport, music and drama, which play a significant part in the life of the academy, and through our support for organisations in our community and participation in national campaigns.
